Equine industry contributes £212m per year and 3,300 jobs to NI economy

Howard joined his ECNI colleagues recently alongside DAERA’s Chief Veterinary Officer Robert Huey and DAERA representative Jim McKelvey at the launch of the Deloitte UK Analysis.

The Analysis was commissioned by DAERA to ascertain the current and potential economic value of the Equine Industry in Northern Ireland.

The analysis has revealed that the equine industry in Northern Ireland contributes approximately £212 million per year to the economy, with associated employment of up to 3,300 full time jobs.
The Equine Council for Northern Ireland have been instrumental in liaising with the department to bring the survey to fruition.
